Inn on Fifth

A 1949 bank converted to a Mediterranean-style hotel — 119 rooms in Old Naples.

Country EstateHistoric InnRomantic · CountryBrass & Velvet

A 1949 bank converted to a 119-room Mediterranean-style boutique on 5th Avenue South in Old Naples. The bank-vault history and the three-story Italianate facade make the property visually unmistakable from the street; inside, it's a country-club-meets-boutique-hotel program that runs four restaurants, a rooftop bar, and a spa. Inn on Fifth anchors 5th Avenue's restaurant block — most of which the inn either operates or sits next to.

This is the largest of Naples' boutique-tier independents and one of the few in-village hotels at this scale.

The setting

The hotel sits at 699 Fifth Avenue South, the central block of Naples' main shopping-and-dining street. Walking distance to 3rd Street South (the smaller, older Naples shopping district), the Naples Pier and beach (six blocks west), and the Cambier Park concert series. The drive in from Fort Myers is 35 minutes; from Miami, two hours; Naples Municipal Airport is 10 minutes east. RSW (Fort Myers) is 45.

The building

Originally a 1949 bank — Italianate-style, three-story stucco-and-tile facade with the bank's vault and original detail still visible in some public spaces. Renovation expanded the building and added the Club Level building across the street. Materials are stone, marble, brass, and velvet. Public spaces include the lobby (with the original bank vault), the rooftop bar (McCabe's Sky Bar), and the courtyard pool.

Independently developed and owned.

The rooms

119 rooms across the main building and the Club Level annex. From around $545 in winter; off-season rates lower. Layouts include kings, queens, and a substantial range of suites with sitting rooms, balconies, and (in the Club Level) club-lounge access. Bathrooms are marble; furniture is Mediterranean-traditional. The Club Level rooms are larger and quieter; main-building rooms face 5th Avenue.

Food & drink

Four on-property restaurants — Truluck's-style Italian at Trulucks, Avenue 5 (the dining room), McCabe's Irish Pub, and the rooftop McCabe's Sky Bar. Open to non-guests by reservation. The food program is the most extensive of any boutique on 5th Avenue. Naples' broader scene (Sea Salt, Bha! Bha!, Campiello, the Continental) is within five minutes' walk.
