Bozeman Inn

Family-run for 30 years — 43 budget-friendly rooms, indoor pool, the working Bozeman option.

Refined AmericanaHistoric InnRomantic · CountryPine & Wool

A 43-room family-run motor inn in Bozeman, family-owned for thirty years, with an indoor pool and rates that haven't been re-engineered for the new Bozeman. The Bozeman Inn is the town's working option — what travelers used as a base before the city decided it was a luxury destination. Indoor pool, simple rooms, central location, owner at the front desk.

This is not a designer property. It is, deliberately, the budget-friendly Bozeman pick — useful in a town where the new builds open at twice the rate.

The setting

The inn sits on West Main Street in Bozeman, in the commercial spine that runs from downtown west toward the airport. Downtown's restaurants and Montana State University are five to ten minutes by car; Bridger Bowl ski area is twenty minutes north; Big Sky is an hour south through the Gallatin Canyon. The drive from Bozeman Yellowstone International is ten minutes.

It's a working town address, not a destination address.

The building

A 1990s-era motor-inn-style building, with the layout that implies — exterior corridors, motor-court parking, a low-slung profile. The aesthetic is straightforward Montana — pine paneling in the lobby, a stone fireplace, a few western prints. No designer overlays.

The rooms

Forty-three rooms in standard categories — kings, two-queens, and a few suites with kitchenettes. Beds are pillow-topped queens or kings; bathrooms are tile, well-kept, refreshed in the last decade. From-rates open around $195 in season — and that's a meaningful number in current Bozeman, where new-build rates start substantially higher. Wi-Fi is good; cell service is normal.

Food & drink

There's no restaurant. A continental breakfast is set out in the lobby. For dinner, downtown Bozeman is five minutes by car: Blackbird Kitchen, Plonk, Ted's Montana Grill (the original Ted's, owned by the actual Ted Turner), Open Range, and Montana Ale Works are the picks. The fast-food and casual options on West Main are right outside the door.

On the property

A heated indoor pool — useful in winter — and a hot tub. There's no spa or gym in the resort sense. A guest laundry. A small fitness room.
